There is something special about coming back to Augusta National Golf Club this time each year. Returning to the same course for the season's opening major allows players on the PGA TOUR to become more and more familiar with the layout each year. Additionally, viewers watching at home learn to love certain holes, whether it's because of championship moments that occur each year or an attraction to the nature of Allister MacKenzie's iconic design.

Like you, the best players in the world also have certain holes that they look forward to experiencing each year at Augusta as well as holes that they feel present an exceptional challenge in their pursuit of a major championship.

Ahead of the 2018 Masters Tournament, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Justin Rose shared their favorite hole and what they believe to be the hardest hole at Augusta National.

Rory McIlroy  No. 13

"The 13th. Arguably the most picturesque area of the course and the ultimate risk/reward hole. If you are willing to take it over the corner, it can provide an eagle chance, but the approach needs to be so accurate to avoid the surrounding trouble."

Jon Rahm — No. 11

"Number 11 is my favorite hole. It is very challenging, but very fair hole that fits my eye."

Justin Rose — No. 11

"Favourite hole is 11 because after you've hit your tee shot you arrive on the top of the hill and Amen corner presents itself! That is a beautiful sight."

Rory McIlroy  No. 11

"The 11th is probably the most difficult hole on the course which requires both length and accuracy to find the putting surface. The tee shot needs to hug the right side of the fairway leaving a very precise and sometimes long iron shot to the green."

Jon Rahm — No. 12

"It depends on the weather conditions, but #12 is difficult for me because of the swirling winds and the small target you're trying to hit."

Justin Rose — No. 12

"I think the most difficult hole at Augusta is 12. It's probably just a mental thing with the wind that can swirl around in there. But you rarely play the hole for birdie. You're happy to make 3 and move on. There may be tougher holes that you can make bogey, but 12 offers up the big number if you don't respect it."
