In TaylorMade’s “M vs. THEM CHALLENGE,” golfers were invited to demo any M Family product against any competitor product to experience the performance difference for themselves.
After their demo session, fans could also share their results on social media using #MvsThemSweepstakes for their chance to win TaylorMade's all-expenses-paid trip for two to Pebble Beach to play a round at The Links at Spanish Bay.
Located along the famous 17-Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula, The Links at Spanish Bay presents a challenging golf course with world-class views. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Tom Watson, and Sandy Tatum, the Scottish-inspired layout hugs the Pacific coastline for much of the front nine before turning inland among the Monterey Pines and finishing up back along the ocean.
With native growth areas, intricate bunkering, undulating greens, and a relentless breeze from the Pacific, choosing the right shot is crucially important. Luckily for our contest winners, they had a forecaddie to help them navigate the blind tee shots, windy conditions, and tricky lies that Spanish Bay supplied.
As the two contest winners and their guests prepared for the round of a lifetime, they shared some insight into their initial impressions of Monterey and their golf expectations before they headed to the first tee.
“I was testing the new M irons against competitors on a simulator and the differences in the stats I was seeing were just night and day. I posted about it on Instagram and a few weeks later, I got a message from TaylorMade that I had won. My jaw just dropped. Levi is my best friend and we both picked up golf together, so it was an easy decision to bring him.”
“I was in shock when Michael asked me to come out here with him. There was no way I was going to turn it down. Obviously, I’m going to try and play well today, but being out here with these views… I will be happy no matter what I shoot.”
“I first found out about this contest at a demo day. The TaylorMade rep there told me to enter, so I did... and fortunately for me, it all worked out! And now that I’m here, I just can’t believe how beautiful it is. I've never been to a town like Monterey and this golf course is just amazing—the location right on the ocean is unreal.”
“I was ecstatic when my son asked me to come out to Spanish Bay. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I'm just so glad that my son asked me to come out here with him.”
Following a round at Spanish Bay, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place in golf to sit back and enjoy some food and cold drinks than the bar at The Inn. If you time it right, you’ll be enjoying a majestic sunset to the tune of their famed evening bagpiper playing Scottish melodies as he walks off down the first hole and into the twilight of the Monterey Peninsula...
