The final major of the 2016 season stops in Springfield, NJ at Baltusrol Golf Club. Here, the best players in the world compete for Glory’s Last Shot and a chance to enter their name into golf history. At the PGA Championship, TaylorMade Tour staffers and our qualifying PGA Club Pros have been given commemorative major staff bags that pay tribute to the history of Baltusrol.
Minimalistic, all-red bags take on an appearance resembling the iconic Baltusrol clubhouse. Following a fire that engulfed the original clubhouse in 1909, a new building was constructed later that year that would become one of the most renowned clubhouses in the game. In 1989, Golf Magazine named it the “second best in the world,” which may come across as a backhanded compliment, but sitting one spot behind the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse of St. Andrews is a royal honor of its own.
Designed in Tudor revival style, the building consists primarily of brick with stone trim. It is a large and majestic clubhouse that will make for a remarkable backdrop as the 2016 champion lifts the Wannamaker trophy on Sunday. Incorporating the brick architecture into the design of our staff bags, detailed stitching creates a symbolic brick wall on the ball pocket. Topped off with custom white and red headcovers made from premium leather, these bags are an incredible keepsake for Tour players and TaylorMade Club Pros alike. Keep an eye out for red bags coming up the 72nd fairway this weekend with the hope of adding a new name to lore of this historic golf venue.
