Hi everybody,

im looking to get fitted for a new set of p790. I swing my 6 irons at 90/92 mph avarege and the fitter told me I should be around 6000 rpm but personally I'm not really sure about that... is this general roule still valid with this kind of new technology?

I am definitely no expert but the traditional thinking is that you want around 6,000rpms (+/- a few hundred) to get a 6 iron to stop on the green. This was the idea for more conventional irons. With the newer technology (M2 irons, P790 irons, etc), they are using a steeper decent angle and more height to get the ball to stop so you don't need the same amount of spin. This is where the importance of a proper fitting with a Taylormade rep comes in. They know what number combination you'll need to get the ball to stop and can help fit you into the correct shaft to accomplish that.

Thank you so much for the answer, unfortunately around my area I didn't find any good TM fitters so I have to go a little bit diy.
